Introducing: Nomad Discotech
Based in Worcestershire, just south of Birmingham UK, The 23 year old producer was introduced to music production at 16 while attending college and since then has been carefully honing the craft both in and outside of education, completing a few tracks along the way too.
It was one of these tracks (Lagos) that wound up on Benji B’s BBC 1xtra show at the end of 2009 and caught the ear and attention of Sydney based Huw Ellis aka Knowfool.
It is in the last five years that Nomad Discotech has began exploring music much more widely, away from jungle and drum & Bass, getting acquainted with Hip Hop, Dub, Afrobeat, Jazz, Soul, House, Techno, Dubstep and more – drawing inspiration from a deeper, soulful, warmer and beat driven side of music.
Debuting in 2010 is Nomad Discotech’s first digital release, featuring Lagos – A Fela heavy and inspired house track that incorporates contemporary grooves with a deeper reflective vibe of an African icon – with support from BBC 1xtra’s Benji B and BBC Radio 1’s Gilles Peterson. Also featured is Fast Food Soul – a twist of Dubstep and Garage with slick R&B sheen.
